James Turner
James read English at Cambridge, graduating in 1999. He was previously employed by the Labour Party, including during the 2001 General Election Campaign. In February 2002 James joined the Charity Commission, latterly undertaking reviews to large charities, offering advice on regulatory and best practice issues.
James joined the Sutton Trust in August 2004 and is now its Policy Director. This role includes developing the Trust’s policy work and briefing its Directors and Trustees on education issues, from the early years through to higher education. James is also responsible for communicating the Trust’s work in research reports, press releases and other literature, as well as developing new access projects.
